Editorial Policy

HOCl Hub is an independent platform. The content we publish, the products we list, and the partners we work with are all subject to the standards set out on this page.

This policy covers three things: how we produce editorial content, how we handle commercial relationships, and what our testing and review process looks like.
Section 01

Editorial Independence

HOCl Hub’s editorial content is produced independently of commercial relationships.

That means no brand, manufacturer, or external party can pay to influence what we write, how we describe a product, or where it appears in our content. Recommendations are based on verified performance and compliance. Product listings are earned through our vetting process.

The people responsible for editorial content are Sultan Alam Khan, our Editor in Chief, and Samir Alam, our Chemical Engineer. They apply the same standard to every piece of content regardless of the commercial relationship — or absence of one — with any brand or manufacturer involved.

When Content Changes
Pages are reviewed when regulatory standards change, new research is published, or product formulations are updated.
Section 02

Affiliate Disclosure

HOCl Hub participates in affiliate marketing programmes. This means that when you purchase a product through a link on our platform, we may earn a commission from the retailer or manufacturer involved.

This is how many independent platforms fund their operations. We want to be transparent about it.

What this means in practice

Some product links on HOCl Hub are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships exist with a number of retailers and manufacturers across our operating regions. Where a specific affiliate relationship is material to a recommendation, we note it clearly on that page.

Commissions vary by retailer and product category. We do not receive preferential commission rates in exchange for favourable coverage.
What this does not mean
  • Affiliate relationships do not determine which products we recommend.
  • We do not accept payment to feature a product in our editorial content.
  • We do not rank or position products based on commission rate.
  • A product with no affiliate relationship is assessed by exactly the same standard as one that has one. If we wouldn't recommend it without the affiliate relationship, we don't recommend it with one.

Commercial Relationships

HOCl Hub has commercial relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. These relationships take several forms, and the rules that govern each are different.

Manufacturing Partners
We work with certified manufacturers in UAE, UK, and USA. These are commercial supply partnerships. Partners are selected through a formal vetting process. No partner can pay to bypass it.
Affiliate Relationships
Some product links generate a commission when clicked and purchased. These are affiliate links. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial content, product rankings, or recommendations.
Sponsored Content
HOCl Hub does not currently publish paid sponsored content.
⚠️ If this changes, any sponsored content will be clearly labelled and kept editorially separate from independent reviews.

How We Review and Test

Every product that appears on HOCl Hub has been through a review process before it is listed. That process covers both the manufacturer behind the product and the product itself.
Manufacturer Vetting
  • Regional compliance confirmed before listing. No product goes live without the relevant biocide registration, cosmetic approval, or food-grade certification for its target market.
  • GMP certification verified. We require documented Good Manufacturing Practice compliance as a baseline.
  • Full documentation reviewed. COAs, safety data sheets, and batch-level traceability records assessed by Samir Alam before any manufacturer is approved.
  • Production transparency confirmed. We know where every product is made and what it contains.
Product Testing
  • ppm concentration verified against stated specification and the effective range for the intended application.
  • pH level checked for stability within the active HOCl window.
  • Shelf life confirmed under standard storage conditions.
  • Surface and practical testing conducted on real surfaces with real tools, not just controlled lab conditions.
  • ATP hygiene monitoring used for disinfection verification via the SystemSURE Plus device.
Section 05

Accuracy and Corrections

HOCl Hub is committed to publishing accurate information. Every claim we make is sourced. Every product we list has been reviewed. Every partner we work with has passed our vetting process.

We get things wrong sometimes. Regulations change. Products are reformulated. New research emerges. When that happens, we update.

Found something that doesn’t look right? Contact us at info@hoclhub.com. We investigate every flagged issue. “We’d rather be corrected than be wrong.”

Factual Errors

If a factual error is identified in our content, we correct it promptly and update the page. We do not delete or rewrite content without acknowledgement where the original error may have influenced decisions.

Products & Partners

If a product or partner no longer meets our standards, it is removed from the platform. We do not maintain listings for compliance reasons while quietly deprioritising a product in practice.

Section 06

Content Sources and Citations

HOCl Hub’s educational content draws on published scientific literature, regulatory documentation, and manufacturer-supplied technical data. Sources are assessed for credibility and recency before use.
Where a claim cannot be sourced to one of the above, it is not published. This applies to all content regardless of format.
Scientific Literature

Peer-reviewed research and published studies. Prioritised over manufacturer claims where the two conflict.

Regulatory Documents

EPA, FDA, UK BPR, UAE PDPL, Dubai Municipality, and other regional authorities. Referenced directly where applicable.

Manufacturer

COAs, safety data sheets, and technical specifications from our verified manufacturing partners. Used for product-specific claims only.

Section 07

AI-Assisted Content

How we use AI in content production

HOCl Hub uses AI tools to assist with content production. This includes drafting, research support, and structural editing.
All content produced with AI assistance is reviewed, edited, and approved by a named human editor before publication. AI-generated copy is not published without human review. Scientific and regulatory claims are verified by Samir Alam regardless of how the content was initially drafted.

We do not publish content that is purely AI-generated without human review and sign-off. The editorial standard applies to all content equally.
